(Just FYI the mission just changed and transfer day is on Tuesday and there are no more Wednesday p-days. All p-days are on Monday now.)
Another transfer in the books!!! And with that, transfer news: well after six weeks of training and doing a pink wash (elders --> hermanas), I am leaving my hija and going to the city once again...but to the real ghetto in Loma 9 (on a map if you look up Paraiso it shows up). I am an hermana leader once again with Hermana Bran. She has the same time in the mission as me and she is from El Salvador. It was not at all what I expected, but nonetheless am so excited!!!
This week was really good, even though number wise and looking back at the work, it didn't quite turn out very well. I have been working on developing spiritual gifts, and I am really working hard on the one to enjoy every moment and as Joseph B. Wirthlin said best, "come what may and love it". I am working on truly "enduring it well". Because really, if we endure to just wait it out, we aren't going to gain anything. We must endure WELL, aka in my mind, endure this life with joy. I spoke on Sunday in church about this. I think sometimes we incorrectly think that we just need to endure on our own. Like somehow we will be able to make it to the celestial kingdom only by reading our scriptures, going to church and the temple, and praying. Yet, it clearly says that it is only by the "merits, mercy, and grace" (2 Nephi 2:8) that we can return to live with God through His Son, Jesus Christ. It is only through Him and His Atonement. I spoke that to endure, means to partner with Him and His enabling power, and to take the Holy Ghost as our guide. I have loved studying more and more about His grace. I love what it says in my favorite hymn, How Firm a Foundation, (here are some miscellaneous lines)...
"As thy days may demand, as thy days may demand, As thy days may demand, so thy succor shall be"
"For I am thy God and will still give thee aid. I’ll strengthen thee, help thee, and cause thee to stand"
"For I will be with thee, thy troubles to bless... And sanctify to thee thy deepest distress"
"My grace, all sufficient, shall be thy supply".
I love being a missionary and am excited for this next adventure!!
