October 3-October 9, 2023-Week 22-Guadalupe

 Title: Seeing as God sees

Hey hey!!! This week flew by, and guess what, I hit FIVE MONTHS IN THE MISSION IF YOU CAN BELIEVE IT!!! I cannot, it has flown by!

This week was really good yet again, and I am doing really good. I had two really cool experiences that felt very special and that I want to remember. These two experiences opened my eyes to see how God can see.

1.  I am trying to encourage Herman Lunt to contact more and be bold. She is pretty shy and I think she has some social anxiety. So slowly, I am helping her start contacts with people and then letting her finish them. I know it must be pretty scary for her, too. So, the other day I started a contacted and then I had her finish it. She just practiced her Spanish and shined her light of Christ with others. Nothing came of it, but she walked out into the darkness and tried her best to talk and invite and love this random stranger on the bus. I was so proud of her! I cannot imagine how God feels when we just try, even if we are going to fail terribly and stumble, He just loves our every little effort.
2. Some of our friends have been keeping their commitments, like reading pamphlets, reading in the Book of Mormon, watching a video, and little things like that. I also read in Preach My Gospel that when we teach our friends to keep their commitments, we are teaching them to keep their covenants of baptism and of the temple. And that is so true! But, what is cooler is how God must feel. When I invite people to read or pray, I know if they do it they will be changed and blessed and invite the spirit in their life. It is the exact same how God must feel. I felt so happy and excited and overjoyed that these people could do something that I knew would bless them. He loves us so much and He just wants us to be happy as well. But, we must invite that power into our lives because He will never betray our agency.

Our friend, Yosmar, is going to be baptized this Sunday after church. We have been only been teaching him for three weeks, but he is the brother of a recent convert, Jair. He came up to us, saying he wanted to serve a mission. I am so excited for him and so glad to see miracles. Yosamr was prepared and chosen before the world was formed. He keeps his commitments and more and is so loving. I am so excited to be part of this miracle!!

Another funny joke is my mission leader thinks we have so many baptismal dates put right now, especially with men, because I am using ¨chapter 14¨ of preach my gospel. That does not exist, but in the mission that is the equivalent of flirting to convert. I am not in all seriousness, but it is not my fault if people at first welcome us in because I am a tall blonde, but it is a bonus to get accepted into peoples houses.

Panama thing: calling everyone who is a teenager a "joven". I think it is so funny to just be called "ay joven" all the time.

I love you all, my next p-day is not until next Wednesday as well by the way!! Probably I will be transferred!
